"New Frontiers in the Biology of Stress, Maltreatment, and Trauma: Opportunities for Translation and Resilience"

The Fourth Annual Conference on Child Protection and Well-Being will focus on biological research findings related to abuse, trauma, and chronic illness.

The conference’s four sessions will focus on:
Genomics
The endocrine system
Brain development
Resilience and translation to clinical practice

Each session will have an integrative translation and “future directions” component, which a leader in the field will direct.

These components will focus on:
How the science can contribute to our understanding of how best to serve and treat victims
Strategies for prevention, intervention, mitigating deleterious outcomes, and reversibility

There will be ample time for discussion following the integrative sessions so attendees and presenters can brainstorm the field’s essential next steps. This conference is a unique opportunity to bring together the best minds and the best research to spark new innovation for taking science and moving it into real-world application and practice.
